Leslie Andrews, RDH, MBA was the featured speaker for the continuing education course hosted by Sigma Phi Alpha at the American Dental Hygienists' Association meeting in New Orleans, LA-June 24, 2007.
The course titled, "Soaring to Greatness In
Dental Hygiene", offered strategies to dental hygienists seeking to broaden their career potential.
Carrie Bigelow, RDH is the first recipient of the ADHA/Sigma Phi Alpha Journalism Award
Competition. Ms Bigelow was awarded this honor at the ADHA opening ceremonies on June 22, 2007.
This achievement was recognized with an engraved plaque and a $1000 cash award.

The annual Sigma Phi Alpha CE was held Sunday afternoon, June
24th - 2-4 pm.

CE was free to all registered for the conference.
About the Speaker
Leslie Andrews RDH MBA graduated from the Fones School of
Dental Hygiene after 15 years of working in the corporate environment
and receiving her Masters in Business Administration. Leslie was, most
recently Northeast Professional Educator for Philips Oral Healthcare.
She currently serves as Immediate Past President of the Connecticut
Dental Hygienists' Association, Delegate to the ADHA, and Public
Relations Chair for the American Academy of Dental Hygiene.
Leslie has a passionate interest in holistic medicine and natural
healing and has authored several articles on the subject in Journal
of Dental Hygiene, Contemporary Oral Hygiene and Journal
of Practical Hygiene.
Ms. Andrews serves as Eastern Trustee to Sigma Phi Alpha.
